A Message from our Alumnae Chair Mia Buccowich
The role of the Alumni Director is primarily to facilitate relationships between current sisters and our small but mighty alumni branch. By providing events for the alumni to come back to it keeps them connected to Theta Mu in a very direct way. It allows them to see sisters they miss as well as meet new ones that they can connect to. One of my goals with this is to make sure that both the alumni and the current sisters benefit from this relationship. One recurring event that I believe embodies this is Chi Talks, an event that invites an alum back to give a presentation on life after college, with time for questions after for sisters. Having the alum as a professional contact is a great resource that I encourage all sisters to take advantage of. In terms of benefitting the alumni this role is designed to connect them with other alumni chapters in the area. It is important to still have a community after college and this is one way that these graduated sisters can have that. One further way that we have to connect the alum to the chapter is through the bi-monthly alumni newsletter. This newsletter highlights sisters and alumni in it, educating them as to what their fellow Theta Mu’s are up to and encouraging them to connect over different interests and passions.
